Happy 1st Birthday Andrew!

We had a great day with Andrew. Josh got off work and we had a real family day. Grandma and Grandpa's package arrived early this morning with a Toys R us gift card and we set off to get some great deals. We also ran a few small errands and then ate at McDonalds for Andrew's birthday lunch. After nice long naps we ate birthday cake and opened presents!

Our Cow Day : Updated

This morning we woke up and went to Chick-fil-A for a free breakfast in our cow attire. Here is Hannah in her full get up that won her a free meal. I just wore a headband to get a free entree.

Andrew had a cow shirt, socks, and ears but the ears didn't stay on for too long. Here Andrew is wearing Josh's cow hat.

I think Andrew ate more food at Chick-fil-A than Hannah did. She was too obsessed with looking and waving at "the cow". Andrew meanwhile gave the cow a few cute smiles and went on eating his food.

After we dressed up like cows to eat chicken we went to feed the ducks!

After Chick-fil-A Josh wanted to go in LifeWay to look at "school" books. The kids and I hung out in the car and jammed to Hannah Montana.

Our 4th of July Weekend

We don't have very many pictures from our weekend. It pretty much rained straight through Saturday and Sunday.

Because (Uncle) Wade, and Kolby and Andrew Nordine were visiting with us I let Hannah skip her nap. Just before 7pm the kids had their baths and got into their jammies. Hannah decided to sit on Daddy's lap after brushing her hair. Next thing we know she is asleep!


And just in case you wanted to see a picture of me in this post, here it is. Josh persuaded me to get my hair cut short...!

Deals and Tips of the Week

So I have been meaning to post great deals I have gotten over the past few weeks, as well as one of my new favorite super quick and easy meals!

Let's start with the great deal I got at Kohl's. Recently we got a $10 gift certificate towards any Kohl's purchase. Looking around the store we noticed they had Fisher Price toys 40% off. This Fisher Price School Bus was regularly around $18 and after our discounts the total came to $9.84. We used our $10 gift certificate and got this toy for FREE! (Happy Birthday Andrew!)

The next deal is Old Navy. They had a special last week for certain items $5. Plus I had a 15% off any purchase coupon. I got two full outfits for Hannah, a bathing suit, jean shorts for me, and a shirt for Andrew... the total regular price was over $75 and I paid $23! Old Navy has some great deals! Go check them out!






My new favorite quick meal is a chicken and rice stir fry. At our local Kroger I discovered Steam Fresh Rice and Veggie mix bags. You find it in the freezer section. You steam the rice and veggies right in the bag using your microwave in 4 minutes. Saute this up with some grilled chicken and a egg... then serve! Yum-O! If you try it and like it let me know!

Singing and Banging

Here is a cute video of Andrew banging (making lots of noise is his favorite thing to do!) and Hannah singing Jesus Loves Me. This is her favorite song next to Hannah Montana.

Piggy Tails, the Park, and the Paintings

For the first time Hannah let me put pig tails in her hair! And she would touch them, as she was looking in the mirror and say, "CUTE!" That's my girl! I hope many more pictures include a hairdo on Hannah. It's about time!

Today it was a little bit cooler than it has been so we went to the park! Hannah on the cool swing.

I got some canvas to use in various spots of the house and let Hannah have a go to see how abstract she could be. I think they turned out pretty good. I'm letting them hang on wall.

Every time Hannah sees this one she always says, "That's MY painting!" She is so proud her Mommy hangs up her artwork.

The wooden high chair I have refinished. Sorry the picture is sideways... blogger won't let me rotate it around. Right now the varnish is drying but I can't wait to let the kiddos use it tomorrow at the table.

Visit to Nashville to See Grandma

Josh's Mom was in Nashville for a week on a business trip and we drove down for two days to see her. Here is Andrew all happy in his seat.
