13 Weeks

I am here at 13 weeks and trying to figure out when I am going to be over this whole tired morning sickness. I have been better as far as the sickness part. I am still taking the Zofran, to come to work, but I still feel tired most of the time. I think it is wearing off a little bit. Which would be great.
Josh and I leave for Jacksonville on Friday. We are going back for Labor Day weekend and I can't believe that it has been a whole year since we have been to Florida. This Saturday will be the one year anniversary of my Mom's death. I want to see her gravesite and spend time with family. As a memorial to her, I am going to begin a mini scrapbook called "about my grandma" and put things my Mom liked, and pictures of her with us. This will help our children get to know a little about the grandma they won't get to meet until Heaven.

12 Weeks

I was so nervous going into my appointment today. When Josh came into the room, (we had to drive separately) I started crying. I was so glad he was there and just wanted to hear good news from the doctor. My doctor was very comforting and we talked over a few questions. She assured me there would be no bleeding from the exam (I was worried - I had heard you could). After all the poking and prodding she got out the doppler to try and hear the heartbeat. It took a few minutes (my baby likes to wiggle around) but she finally found the heartbeat, and then lost it again (baby moving). We found it a few times and the last time it was really good and strong. Yeah! We are going back in two weeks (September 7) for another check-up visit. I am glad she is willing on seeing me again soon. (sometimes they make you wait a month between visits) I think that is all the news for now - thank you all for praying! Keep on lifting our baby up in prayers!! (and Josh as he is still working hard in school and work)

11 Weeks

I have now made it to 11 weeks. Over the weekend I did really good and didn't feel too sick. I guess I had too much to do. But now today I have been really sick ... maybe there is something linking work to being sick... =) I went and filled my prescription for nausea medication. It is some new pill that melts in your mouth. It works for 8 hours! I think I finally feel it starting to kick in, which is great. Thank goodness for insurance because otherwise it would have cost me $40 a pill!! Wow.
My brother Wade and his girlfriend Jennifer moved up over the weekend and will be attending Boyce this fall. Classes started for Boyce College yesterday and Josh has already attended two classes, including Hebrew!
Not too much other news here. I go to the doctor one week from today to hear the heartbeat again and have my 12 week checkup. PRAY!!!

10 1/2 Weeks

Well despite me throwing up on the way to the doctor's office we had a good doctor's visit. They used the doppler in the room and we were able to HEAR the little heartbeat! I was really cool. That's all the news I have for now. Thanks for all your prayers, and keep praying!!
Joanna for the three of us! =)

10 Weeks

Let me update you on our lives the past few days. On Wednesday Josh called me at work to say he had been offered a job promotion. The job promotion would be awesome for us and allow me to stay at home once the baby is born. For him to accept the job he would have to be back from our already planned vacation by Monday at 10am for special 4 weeks of training. This was a problem because we had reservations on a cabin until Wednesday. We called the cabin rental company and they allowed us to move up the vacation days and also cut it short one day (full refund) for Josh's job training. My work allowed me to shift my days off and off we went Thursday morning! I called the doctor's office about my appointment and they would only let me cancel my appointment, not reschedule. It was so hard to say no to a doctor appointment, but we did cancel and I have to call this week to reschedule. I am hoping the doctor will be able to see me. I have been only sicker with my morning sickness, and have not had any bleeding so we are hoping these are good signs. Vacation was relaxing but also hard on poor Josh as he had to take care of his sick wife. Josh is such an awesome husband!! I will keep you all updated, keep praying!!

9 Weeks

It has taken me a long time to have time to sit and write more for the website. Josh and I had a very busy weekend. My Dad and his friend came for a visit and we ran all over town doing this and that. It was really good to see my Dad and visit with him.
As an update on me, I am doing alright. The doctor visit went great on Thursday. The ultrasound lady went into great detail explaining things around our baby. The placenta is forming nicely and at 12 weeks will take over feeding the baby. We could see the little heart beating, the spine forming, little arm and leg buds growing. So cute! Our little baby is only about an inch to an inch and a half long, but already has so many changes going on in his/her little body. I go to the doctor again on Thursday. We will not have an ultrasound, but the doctor said she will bring the dopler in and we can LISTEN to the heartbeat. This will be the first time we will get to HEAR. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. There is a chance that everything will be fine, but the dolper won't be able to detect the heartbeat because the heartbeat will be too faint. If this is the case I hope the doctor will order an ultrasound to assure us everything is fine and healthy with the pregnancy.
Please continue to pray that our baby will grow healthy and strong and the heartbeat would keep beating away. Love to you all!
