10 Months Old!

Hannah is 10 months old today! It is amazing how much she has grown. I cleaned out Hannah's room yesterday and was organizing all her new clothes and taking out the ones she has grown out of and I came across a newborn diaper. I could not believe how tiny it was! I brought it over to Josh and his jaw just dropped. I said, "Can you believe Hannah once fit into this diaper?!" Hannah is getting her two top teeth in. One has already broken through and the other one is sure to follow soon. She has been a little fussy over the past two days but that is part of the reason, I am sure. Plus, all three of us have been sick with awful nagging coughs and Hannah and I have had runny noses too. We all feel yucky and poor Josh has been working 12 hour days. I think he is going to stay home sick tomorrow. We all need to recover! Please keep us all in your prayers. Also pray for my prenatal appointment this coming week on January 3rd. The doctor will use the dopler to see if she can hear the heartbeat. I pray everynight with Hannah that the baby is still alive and for Mommy to be able to hear the heartbeat this week. Love and prayers!
PS I have been lazy in sending Christmas cards. I have the letter written and printed, I just have not addressed all the envelopes. If you have gotten a Christmas card consider yourself very lucky! If you have not hopefully soon you will receive a New Year's card!

Christmas Video

Hannah's First Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Hannah woke Josh and I up at 8am. She must have been ready for Christmas! Here are some pictures from our day.
This is a picture that we took with my family (minus Hannah she was taking a nap) after church on Sunday. It turned out really good!
When I was looking through the pictures to put up on the blog and saw this one as a small icon I did I double take. For a second I thought it was a younger verison of my Mom with Hannah. But this is me with Hannah while staying at GG's house this December.

When we heard Hannah awake... Josh and I went in and said, "MERRY CHRISTMAS HANNAH!"

Here is Hannah opening a present!

Here is Hannah sitting in her new rocking chair she got from Mommy and Daddy.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Home for the Holidays

Josh, Hannah, and I were in Jacksonville this past week. We went from Tuesday to Tuesday and had a GREAT time visiting with friends and family. We decided to fly to Jacksonville. This was Hannah's first plane ride and she did great. On the first flight she slept almost the entire time. On the second one we had delays and she got a little fussy. She LOVES to wiggle and there is not much room to wiggle on an airplane sitting on our laps! The plane rides home were much better. We had better seats and even on one flight had three seats to ourselves. It was very nice. We had "Christmas" several times while visiting. Hannah didn't quite get the ripping of the wrapping paper as we thought she would. She did find little scraps on the ground and try to eat them! We arrrived home yesterday evening and began unpacking. I (Joanna) love packing, but HATE unpacking. I buckled down and did three whole suitcases last night. I was so proud of myself. Lots of laundry still awaits me. Hannah had a little bit of a rough night back in her crib. She slept in which helped Josh and I a great deal.
Now we are coming to the task of decorating our house for Christmas and buying gifts! We waited on the decorating so our cats wouldn't rip into everything while we were gone. And Josh and I also decided to wait to buy gifts because we didn't know what we were getting from our families. As much as I loved traveling and visiting with family I am glad to be home for the upcoming holidays.

And she's off...!

Hannah is crawling! It took a little longer for her to get the hang of it. She has been wanting to for so long and finally did it last night! Yeah Hannah!! Video to come soon!

Hannah's Doctor Visit

I just realized today that I hadn't done a post since Hannah went to the doctor this past Wednesday. She weighs 17 lbs 7 oz. She is only in the 25% percentile for height and weight. The doctor said she is in proportion that height and weight are equal on the percentile chart and that she might just be small. Who would have thought my 8 pound baby would end being small for her age! Hannah got a flu shot and they all stuck her finger to draw blood. This was a sad experience! Whatever test they did Hannah ranked good on the nutrional level etc. (I'm not sure what they were testing for again...) Hannah cried most of her doctor visit unless I was holding her. I guess she didn't like being naked in front of all those strange ladies! Poor little girl. The visit is behind us and Hannah will not have to go back until her 12 month/1 year checkup unless she gets sick.
There is not much else news otherwise. Josh is done with classes and has the month of December off from school. Hannah and I are very excited about this and Hannah is enjoying her much needed Daddy time.
I have been feeling nauseated in the mornings for the past couple of mornings. No actual upchuck yet which I am happy to report. I don't go back to to the doctor's office until Decemeber 21 and that is only for a history visit, not to get to hear the heartbeat. I might have to ask if I can have this done. I would really like to hear him/her and make sure everything is okay.
Well, the three of us leave for Jacksonville a week from tomorrow. I cannot believe it!
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to come to Jacksonville that all of us will continue to be in good health and for the little one inside me that they will continue to grow bigger and healthy and that the little heart would continue beating!!

6 Weeks Ultrasound

Here is a picture of Hannah's baby brother or sister. He/She is measuring 5 weeks and 6 days old. I am 6 weeks pregnant. Please pray for our new baby that they would grow and develop correctly. So much is growing and forming in this early stage. We were able to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound screen this afternoon. Please pray that the heart would continue to beat. We are so thankful to the Lord for blessing us with this new little one.

Note: On the top picture the white fuzzy area is my womb. The dark oval is the sac where the baby is. The top white-ish small circle is the baby!! He/She is just a VERY small little baby right now. =)

I've got a secret...

Hannah is going to be a big sister! In case the hint from the last note went misunderstood... I, Joanna, am 6 weeks pregnant today. I am due July 20, 2008. Tomorrow Hannah, Josh, GG, and I go to the doctor and I will have my first ultrasound. The heart should have begun beating this past week so if everything is going normal in this pregnancy we should be able to see the heart beating on the ultrasound screen.
Please pray that they baby would continue to grow and develop normally. Please pray for all the organs as they are beginning to grow and function. Please pray for me that I would not be too sick as I have Hannah to take care of!
We are excited!!

Update

This past Thursday night Josh and I came down with sore throats and other cold symptoms. Hannah thankfully doesn't seem to have anything but a runny nose. We are still recovering and hope to be over it soon.
Thanksgiving is next week and I don't know where the month of November has gone! Josh has finals all this week and then will be done with school for the semester. We are SO thrilled. Next week Josh, Hannah, and I will head to Hartselle, Alabama for Thanksgiving with many family members. We just can't wait!!
Hannah is going to have so much fun! I thought you might like this cute picture...

Feeding Hannah Peas

Feeding Hannah peas (or any other vegtable) always provides some good faces and plenty of laughes. Enjoy!

Joanna is Now 25!

Well, I have been meaning to write and update about the events of my birthday. I had a great Wednesday. Josh and Hannah woke me up and I opened my presents in bed. I got a Vera Bradley duffle bag and a USB Flash Drive. Hannah even wrote on my birthday card! She is so smart! Hannah and I had to go to work for a few hours and play with Charlotte. When we came home Josh and gone out and gotten my cake and we opened it up, lit the candles and sang, and dug right into the cake! In the middle of the afternoon! I really enjoyed having such a different mixed up order of events in my birthday. But I did like the idea of presents in bed. Maybe we'll keep that tradition! After we all took a nap (Josh was off for the day), we all got dressed and ready to go out to eat. (with birthday money - thank you Mom T) We went to a great italian placed called "Bravo!". Haven't heard of it? Have you heard of Olive Garden? Bravo! is like 20 times better let me tell you!! I got the Chicken Pomodoro (fancy chicken parm with big hunks of fresh mozerella cheese on top). Hannah ate baby food and her kid menu. She had a lot of fun and the place was almost empty because everyone was out trick or treating! Afterwards we went to the mall and just walked around. All in all I had a super day and look forward to many more birthdays to come.

Hannah is doing great. She is now 8 months old and so spunky! She won't sit still on your lap anymore! She LOVES to wiggle around. She is SO close to crawling and Josh and I can't wait for this next milestone. It is so amazing watching our little girl grow up. She loves to read (and eat) books too. Her teeth are finally getting some height to them and you can see them when she smiles. We went and had her 8 month pictures taken today and they were SO awesome! Hannah had many good ones with smiles. We ordered 7 different poses! Most of you should be receiving a copy sometime in the near future. We'll also have Christmas ones done right after Thankgiving!

Not much else going on here. I will say, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPPY!" (aka Dad Hunter). Love to all!!
PS Notice in this last picture you can see her bottom two teeth!! =)

Update

Hello All! It seems like forever since I posted last, but I think it has only been a week or so. Hannah is doing awesome and having so much fun with life. She babbles constantly and although she did say "mama" first, her now favorite word is "da" or "dada". Today I asked her if she wanted some more baby bananas and I promise you she said "yeah"!! (prononced "ya")

Last week Josh was telling me he had a work breakfast he had to go to. It was that coming Saturday the 20th and Hannah and I were invited if we wanted to attend. Sometimes he finds out about things at the last minute so I didn't think anything of it and agreed Hannah and I would go. It was at a funky Louisville place called Lynn's Paradise Cafe (very yummy breakfast, might I add) and when we got there to my surprise I was being thrown a surprise early birthday party with my former c0-workers and friends!! How exciting! Here is a picture of cute Hannah. She was in on it the whole time and never let on! hee hee

I have to hand it to Josh, he did an AMAZING job covering up this party thing. I asked SO many questions about this "work function"!! Here is Hannah ordering pancakes (with chocolate chips) for her Mommy.

Then, after the breakfast Josh, Hannah, and I headed back to our house where we quickly changed in to Gator gear and swapped Hannah for some Boyce Gator fans and headed off to Lexington for the big game.

Hannah stayed with her friend Taylor and her parents for the day. Hannah had so much fun. So did Josh and I. We sat with my Great Aunt Libby's Rocket City Gator Alumni Club. (we had her tickets) and we were in the tipity top of the corner of the endzone. We liked our seats but the only downside was we would have liked to have been in the shade sooner. As you can see from the picture the other side of the stadium got shade first.

Here is Josh and I with a view from our seats.

The best part about the Saturday was the Gator's winning!! YEAH! It would have not been pretty if the Wildcats had won. They can be pretty stupid when they celebrate and we didn't want to get hurt (or our car set on fire...)

It was great to have a day to just hang out and cheer for our favorite team.
Also, I did tell you I would post more pictures of Hannah, Josh, and I with pumpkins. Here are two cute pictures. One of myself and Hannah and one of Josh and Hannah. We love you all!!

Hannah will be 8 months old here in a few days!!! WOW!

New Giggles

You may or may not know that our little girl Hannah is so serious! If you were to meet her when we are out and about Hannah would stare at you with her big blue eyes and maybe possibly cry (if you tried to pick her up). She is smiley at home, but laughs or giggles are hard to come by. I have found a new way to make her giggle. If you pretend to eat her hand, leg, arm, foot - whatever and make a chomping noise like you were biting into a juicy apple. She giggles and shieks. It is SO cute. She also likes it when you surprise her with a "BOO!". It must be that time of the year! =)

Pickin' Pumpkins with our Pumpkin

Here we are at the pumpkin patch ready to find a pumpkin. Hannah wasn't really interested in her pumpkin until we got home.
Here is Hannah and her "Hannah sized" pumpkin.

I will post more pictures later. The website is really being a pain and it is taking forever to upload.

Visit to the Zoo

Josh's work sponsors a fun day every fall for their employees and their families. This year it was at the Louisville Zoo! We decided to take Hannah and walk around. (plus we got free lunch) Our weather has been pretty mild and nice, but today it was HOT! So, it wasn't the perfect fall day at the zoo... I slathered Hannah in sun screen and tried to keep her covered. Poor little girl wasn't really sure what was going on most of the time! We did get some good pictures... Here they are below...

Look Hannah, baby kangaroos!
(I don't think she cares, she's just glad to be out of the stroller!)

Hannah and Daddy by the rhino.

Hannah and Daddy by the elephant.
(but it's not really about the animals, is it?)

There was a pretty garden perfect for picture taking right in the park. To get Hannah to smile I had to sing a tune and make her arms dance then quickly stop for Josh to take the picture.

All in all I would say that Hannah's favorite
part was trying to eat the flowers!

I change my mind, I think Hannah's favorite part was cooling off in the car before we went home and pretending to drive the car! =)

Picture of New Teeth

Well, here is the picture I promised. Her teeth have grown more since...

Pet Peeve

Okay so when Hannah has been sick I haven't taken her to church and put her in the nursery because I didn't want her to pass along her germs to any of the other babies...
Well, today I went to pick up Hannah from her class and there was a Dad there (dropping off his baby) telling the nursery worker about how the child was sick and the flem she was coughing up and it was okay just to collect it in a napkin and toss it away. Then he asked the worker if she had any children. She said no and he said, "Well this will be good practice for you taking care of a sick baby."
I could not believe it! They looked over at me and gave me a strange look. I must have been staring with my mouth wide open. I did all I could to restrain myself from fussing at them. I was just super glad that I was picking Hannah up and she was only spending a minute in the same room with the sick child of the inconsiderate parents.
Whew! Hannah starting coughing some today... I hope she is not getting sick again.

"Teeths"

That's right! I felt Hannah's bottom gums yesterday and I felt 2 teeth coming through! (maybe even 3, but I haven't gotten a good look yet) I was so excited more than I ever thought I would be over teeth! Hannah's little friends (even the ones who are younger than her) all have at least one tooth and I kept wondering why Hannah hadn't gotten any yet. So, the little teeth I feel coming through have been why she has been a little fussy and not quite her smiley self. I'm so excited and if I happen to get a good picture I will post!
Does anyone know how long before the white stumps peaking through the gums will be "full grown" teeth?

Our New Highchair!

Grandma and Grandpa bought Hannah and new highchair while they were here. Here is Hannah enjoying one of her first meals in the highchair...

Fun at Cheddars

We went out to eat with Josh's parents Friday night and for the first time Hannah sat in a big kid high chair. (we don't get out to eat that often) She did really well and enjoyed playing and eating the menu most of the time. =)Here is Hannah sitting in the high chair. She looks happy to be up at the table.
This is her serious look. I really think she wants to know what the words say!

Here is Hannah again, I think she likes eating and hitting the menu more than reading it.

Getting Better

Hannah is getting better slowly but surely. She is still getting her medicines 3 times a day. Her runny nose is almost better, but she is still stuffy at times. Thankfully so far I really haven't gotten sick.
Right now we are waiting on Josh's parents to arrive. They are about 2 hours away! Hannah is taking her nap and hopefully will be a smiley and happy girl when they get here. (and isn't scared of the "strangers") Even if she is she should get over it pretty quickly. She is such a happy and easy going baby!
Work is going good for me. I have the rest of the week off since Josh's parents are coming in town. Josh was also able to get off work so that is great for him. He has been keeping up with school and I am proud of him!
I think that is our lives for now. We'll have to update later with some pictures from Grandma and Grandpa's visit.

We are sick...

Well, after almost a week of a runny nose for Hannah I called the doctor for the second time. They asked us to come in and after examing her, prescribed a antibiotic to help clear up her runny nose. When the doctor looked into her throat he saw blisters that he believed to be the Coxsackie virus. Also known as the hand-foot-and mouth disease. The good news is that Hannah has a mild case with only small blisters in her mouth but this explains why she calmed down at night when I Tylenol! So Hannah is on Tylenol Cold medicine for the pain and runny nose and a antibiotic to help clean up the infection. Josh, has had a sore throat for over a week and after looking in his mouth I think he might have caught Hannah's virus. I am feeling a little on the bad side of the weather, but I really need to hold the family up right now! Whew!
Pray for us and a fast recovery. (and that sweet Charlotte does not have the hand-foot-and mouth disease)

Hannah Story

Yesterday Josh and I were eating some fruit puree and ice snack. Hannah kept staring at us smaking her lips. I decided to give her some. As I gave it to her, I said, "Yummmmmmm" (I usually say this everytime I feed her a spoonful of food.) The next time I gave her another spoonful, she said "MMMMMMMM". It was so cute! She even said it today while she was eating her lunch. I know this doesn't really count as a word, but I think she knows what she is saying!

Hannah's Favorite Game

Where's Hannah??

Where did Hannah go?

There she is! Peek-a-boo!!
Normally this is followed by a big smile, but today she was being serious.
Below should be a video of Hannah playing peek-a-boo at Charlotte's house. (you can hear her in the background) I have uploaded another video to YouTube that should be ready to view in the next 24 hours.

Hannah's New Friend

I have started watching a 3 month old girl on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mid-October it will go to 3 to 4 days a week. Her name is Charlotte and she is a very good baby. She loves her bouncy and swing (like Hannah did) and is a good sleeper. Hannah and Charlotte like to look at each other and smile. Hannah is the "big girl" and loves "helping" Mommy by being good while I feed or take care of Charlotte. Here is a picture of Char.

Doctor Check-Up Today

Hannah, Josh, and I went to the see Hannah's doctor today. She did not get her morning nap before we went and just hoped she wouldn't be that fussy. Hannah did fine. In the waiting room Hannah was looking around at the other children who were playing with toys. When we got called back to the room and put Hannah on the table with the paper all Hannah wanted to do was eat it! I let her but then Josh took it away. (party pooper!) =) She was not scared of the nurse or Dr. Abrams. (last time she got scared of the man doctor and cried the whol time) She weighs 15 pounds 14 ounces. It was a little less than I was expecting. I thought she would have made it over the 16 pound mark, she is pretty close. A "normal" baby doubles their birth weight by 6 months. Hannah was born at 8lb 1oz which would put her at 16lb 2oz but the doctor was not concerned at all. She said since Hannah is sleeping so good through the night that there was no need to worry about her getting enough food. Hannah is 25 inches long. She is in the 50 percentile for weight and 25-50 percentile for height (Josh said Hannah is going to be short like me, but I'm not short!). The doctor did notice Hannah's droopy eyelid and said the same as last time, "We'll keep an eye on it." Hannah received 2 shots and oral drops. She did pretty well and calmed down in Josh's arms afterwards. Other than that she is doing great! The doctor said to start feeding her baby food 2 times a day and see how she goes. She said we could give her regular applesauce and mashed up people food with a little rice cereal as she gets a little older. Overall we got a good report and we are so thankful that our little girl is growing healthy!

6 Month Birthday!

Hannah turned 6 months old today! Josh and I were talking and it is hard to believe that we have only had Hannah for 6 months. Our lives have changed so much and we just love it! Hannah is sitting up better and for longer periods of time. She finally decided she wanted to eat some baby apple sauce today. I have been trying rice cereal and oatmeal and she really does not like either. I had bought some 1st foods baby banana food and she did okay with it, but then today while I was at the store I picked up the 1st foods apple sauce and when I fed it to her she gobbled it up. She would almost suck the food off the spoon when I put it in her mouth and she finally got the swallowing part! Yeah Hannah! This has been the first feeding where more ended up in her belly than on her face. =)Happy 1/2 Birthday Sweet Hannah!!

Hannah is Sitting!

Well the news today is that Hannah is sitting! Hannah sits on the couch with me for 30 minute time frames and then she will sit on the floor for about 2-3 minutes by herself. Her problem is that she gets too excited and throws her weight back and falls backward. I have to be there to catch her just in case. Pretty soon she will be sitting for much longer periods of time without close Mommy supervision. =)

A Day with Mommy and Hannah

I thought I would reflect on my day with Hannah. We have some good times. =)
7:35am - Hannah makes noise that I overhear on baby monitor I roll over and hope she will stay content in her crib until at least 8am.
8:55am - I wake again and Hannah is "talking" in her crib. It's time to get up!
9:00am - After a diaper change Hannah comes back to bed with me to eat.
9:15am - Hannah is ready to drink some formula.
9:30am - Hannah and I check the mail (nothing today).
10:10am - We wake up Daddy.
11:00am - Daddy is still sleeping and Hannah decides to take a nap with him.
11:01am - Mommy gets "me" time!
12:00pm - Breakfast for Mommy and Daddy, another bottle for Hannah plus diaper change.
1:00pm - Head off to the mall to pick up pictures and "get out".
1:50pm - My former office job calls with a question... I feel needed in the outside world! =)
2:05pm - Pick up $5 pizza at Papa Johns - yeah I don't have to cook!
2:30pm - Hannah sits in the corner of the couch with me and plays with toys.
3:03pm - Daddy heads off to work and Hannah and I are on our own for the rest of the day.
3:30pm - Another bottle for Hannah and diaper change before nap.
3:49pm - Mommy and Hannah lay down for a nap. (this is the fun part)
5:34pm - Daddy calls us on his break at work. We wake up when the phone rings.
6:15pm - Snack and drink for Mommy, another bottle for Hannah.
6:35pm - Hannah has fun in the baby einstein. Mommy sings with the music. Hannah smiles and laughs.
6:59pm - We go for a walk around the neighborhood. Hannah rides in the snugli on me and holds tight to my fingers. She loves to watch the cars go by. It is still really hot outside.
7:20pm - Hannah and I are back from the walk. We cool off by getting a drink of water. I drink a glass, Hannah drinks about 1 oz of water.
7:30pm - Hannah is fussy and tired but I need to hold her off a little longer. She sits on my lap and plays with Mommy's necklace and of couse tries to eat it!
7:55pm - Bedtime bottle for Hannah plus diaper change and into her PJ's.
8:10pm - I pray and kiss Hannah goodnight. Like usual, Hannah is a great sport about going to bed and doesn't fuss. I turn on her moblie and baby monitor.
8:15pm - 12:20am - Chores and more "me" time. I wait up until Josh gets home from work.

Four Years!

Well, Josh and I celebrated four years of marriage yesterday! It's so hard to believe we have been married that long, and also living in Louisville for four years! Josh and I (with Hannah) went and ate at the Cheesecake Factory and then came home put Hannah to bed and watched a movie. It was our first anniversary with a baby and we still went out and did something together, even if it was with Hannah. When Grandma and Grandpa Tillman come up in September, maybe Josh and I can go off and have some time by ourselves (hint, hint).

I started a scrapbook and every year I make one page with our year anniversary picture on it and explain what we did to celebrate. One day I hope to have 50 pages of memories!! We had a good creative idea for our picture this year. We stood infront of our wedding picture (see in the background?) and did kind of the same pose... cute, right!?!

5 Months Old!

Hannah is now 5 months old! She is rolling all the time now and really trying to talk! She chews on her tongue like it is a piece of gum and makes cute noises. A couple of times I have thought I heard her say a word... I am still hoping that first word is "ma-ma". Josh and I both say, "ma-ma" to Hannah and she always smiles really big. We love our sweet girl and she is a constant reminder of God's goodness in our lives.

Hannah is Rolling!!!!!!!!!!!!

My little girl can now roll! I was helping her last night by helping her roll over from back to tummy and then half the time she would roll right back over onto her back. Then this morning I put her down to nap on the couch on her tummy (me sitting her on the loveseat) and I look over and what do I see??
I see my Hannah on her back trying to eat the blanket from above! I am so proud!! And now I have to be a lot more careful too!!

Swimming!

I was just going through pictures of the computer and came across this cute picture of Hannah and her friend Blythe in their swimming suits! Blythe's mom and dad (Lindsay and Justin) have been friends of mine and Josh's almost the whole time we have been here in Louisville. Lindsay and I shared our pregnancy ups and downs together as we were just 6 weeks apart in our due dates. Blythe was born on Wednesday, Jan 10th and Hannah was born 6 weeks later on Wednesday, Feb 28! Lindsay and I took Blythe and Hannah for a swim in the seminary pool for the first time. Hannah had been swimming twice before, but it was Blythe's first time. They both had fun. It's hard to believe they'll be swimming around the pool in what seems no time at all!!
